Why did my athlete start on this event, and what comes next?

A rotation can begin on any assigned event, so the first event you see may not be the first one in the usual event list.

From that starting point, the group moves through its meet-day order until its rotation is complete.

Four-event exampleFollow the rotation from the assigned first event
  1. 01
    FirstUneven bars
  2. 02
    SecondBalance beam
  3. 03
    ThirdFloor exercise
  4. 04
    FourthVault

Illustrative order only. A meet host sets the format and assignments for its sessions.

01

Start with the assigned event

The useful first question is not whether the group started at the beginning of a printed event list. It is which event the group was assigned first.

02

Read the path from that starting point

The example below starts away from the first event in the displayed list. Routine Mastery calculates each position from that selected starting point so the whole path stays visible.

03

Check the meet’s own instructions

Meet format and assignments can vary and are set by the meet host. The host’s schedule and announcements remain the source for what a particular session will do.
